Who wouldn't want flooring that lasts a lifetime?
There are several types of installation we offer at Floors Between the Doors. Each type of hardwood floor installation method offers its own unique benefits, depending on what type of wood floor you choose. A couple of options are more suitable for other types of hard flooring, such as luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and luxury vinyl plank (LVP). The floor specialists at Floors Between the Doors are experienced experts in all forms of hard flooring installation methods. So you can rest easy knowing they'll do it right the first time. Guaranteed.
Commercial or residential hardwood floor installation is often done by the nail-down installation method and is perfect for solid wood floors, including prefinished and engineered hardwood. Our technicians ensure that this method of installation is done systematically and executed correctly the first time!
Otherwise known as interlocking flooring, this form of installation is for hardwood flooring that is created to interlock and click together. Floating hardwoods are not secured to the subfloor, and this form of installation is mostly (but not all the time) used for luxury vinyl plank (LVP). The flooring pieces may or may not be required to be glued to each other.
Often used in commercial businesses and homes with concrete slab subfloors, the glue-down installation method requires that the concrete slab subfloor be pretreated and evened out before a hardwood floor contractor can can systematically and carefully glue down your hardwoods. This form of installation is especially common for luxury vinyl plank and luxury vinyl tile but can also be used for installing hardwoods.
Wood floors are a perfect choice for living rooms, kitchens, halls and bedrooms! We recommend not installing hardwoods in laundry rooms, bathrooms and basements due to the potential of flooding, moisture, and appliance damage.
Hardwoods are extremely durable, but there are certain species of wood that are more durable than others. If you are wanting to install hardwoods in a high traffic area that may get extra wear and tear from kids, toys, or animals, you'll want to choose a wood species that is highly durable and a very protective coating. We offer many durable hardwood options!
Since installing floors is a huge part of creating a space you love, choosing a hardwood floor that matches who you and your family are is important! This means you get to choose the species of hardwood, color, finish, pattern, and all the exciting options that come with making your floors your own.
Where you are right now in your life may not be where you are 10+ years from now. Consider what and who will be in your life down the road and make your decisions about what hardwood flooring you want based on that. This way, you'll save time and money and will be able to better protect your investment!
We don't want to assume you will hire a wood floor installer for this project. There's nothing wrong with a good DIY project, but we recommend you understand the installation process and pros and cons of installing hardwood floors yourself before choosing this option. Our work is guaranteed and the flooring and installation comes with a warranty. Not assurances you'll get if you do it yourself!
There are plenty of affordable wood flooring options available with various levels of durability and quality. Solid hardwood floors cost anywhere from $12-$18/ sq ft so be sure you know what you're willing to spend before being presented with all the options. Hardwoods are a worthwhile investment and we respect your desire to keep that investment as affordable as possible!
